Well it has been a while since i have posted on here, but i have been following others who do such a good job and it encourages me to continue....
New years eve... i have some of my favorite memories on new years eve, from when i was a kid and spending the night with my parents friends the Benners and the Lapps... to when i took fun road trips to the beach, Bush Kill Falls... and Baltimore...
many things have changed since then.. mostly i really despise being cold and being outside for new years is no longer something i wish to do.. also i have two lovely children
that i want to make this holiday special for.
I had my good times and now it is theirs... took a trip to the dollar store to get supplies, horns, streamers, small fire works = good times.i don't think i have been this excited about a new years eve in a long time! well since the first and last year Husband and i went away for New years :)
here is to a great night for the kiddo's filled with family time and great memories! 2010 has been awesome...ish.... but i am excited for 2011

I can take you for a ride on my big green tractor
Connor and i mowed our yard today! wile we were mowing Connor was singing the "lyrics" to Jason Aldean's big green tractor song..."going for a ride on a big green tractor"..."we go fast we go slower"...
we also went to a flower store and i got more peppers for my Garden since i had some bunnies eat my poor little ones that i just planted... i also planted some marigoalds to hopefully stop the bunnies for getting to them again :)
i also got some herbs to use for cooking... we will see if they make me a better cook or not :)

Project: balcony door
the project of the day was to paint our balcony door red. nap time came around and for a second i thought i would be able to work on the door. Connor was very interested in what i was doing. i gave him a bucket of water and a foam brush and let him "paint" the driveway with water. Connor Pollock had a great time for about 15 minutes he soon changed from painting the driveway to painting himself. we decided to get out the pool and play in the water. i have to admit i love working on things for the house.... but to play with my boys is also high on my list. both Riley and Connor enjoyed splashing in the cold water...
I turned my attention away from Connor for a moment
and he decided to fill his pool with flowers from around our patio...which actually made for a great picture....
After playing in the pool and a few hours of work at the awesome outlets i came home with some energy, enough to finish the door so here are some before and after shots of our new red balcony door

Project: backdoor
I few days ago i found some old red paint in my shed and i really needed to do something with it. I thought about painting our front door, but i wasn't ready to commit to the red just yet... so i choose to try it out on the back door.
after breakfast (which we ate at Shady Maple today because today is husband's birthday) i took the hardware off the back door and i sanded down the old brown on brown paint and began to take my door from bland to red.i painted one coat then took the boys to volunteer at the food bank at church when i came home i still liked the color so i gave it a second coat. this project was a success now i am wondering what else i can turn red on my house... we will see where tomorrow takes us, maybe the side door will also turn red

Connor's 3rd Bithday!
oh how time is flying! my baby is 3 years old!
Connor wanted a fire truck birthday cake...so i thought i would give it a try
i googled it of course and i found a tutorial that i thought would work...
How to make a fire truck cake
here is Connor's cake:
Connor "helping" my mix up the RED icing!
Connor's Cake
I reached out to mothers on facebook for some reassurance that i could do this...and i got great encouragement.. mostly from my high school gals but encouragement is encouragement doesn't matter where it comes from right :)
Connor and i found a new fire truck song! a lovely catchy song which became my mantra and i was humming it as i iced the cake
we had a bunch of family come to his party.
Our house was packed, we had wanted the party to be outside but of course the weather was not cooperating. overall Connor had a great time and a lovely birthday party. I am so thankful to my family for all attending a 3 year old birthday party!
Just the cutest picture ever i had to add it in here somewhere
